Grounding, stability, protection, integration: Earth. It’s one of four paintings I’m doing in this collection to honor the elements: Earth, Fire, Air, Water. We have a bit of each in all of us, our own unique blend. Maybe you embody more Earth…what do you see in this painting? Or maybe you need more Earth to balance your Fire.

The photograph for inspiration was taken just after a rain. A rainbow appeared and it felt like the colors were reflecting on the ground, and the reflection of all the water on the gravel road appeared as though the sky and land were one. The horizon is there, but intermixed to show earth as a container for all life’s miracles. Wholeness.
