“Still Breathing” …now what?

I don’t know what to write. That’s how I’ve felt these days. I’ve been more interested in diving into water…and staying there, away from it all. But damn we must keep going, keep rising, and that’s where my motivation begins, and here I am.

A song that has lit the flame for me recently is from the “Point Break” film called “Still Breathing” by Dig the Kid. My dear friend’s husband worked on this film, who tragically passed away last year in a BASE jumping accident. He continues to be a beacon of inspiration in my work, and also witnessing the resilience and strength from his wife, my friend, amazes me quite frankly.

From all the pain that has happened lately on this planet…we’re still here, we’re “still breathing.” So now what? Where are we going? What’s going to happen? I have no clue. For me, what feels right, what feels like my responsibility…is to CREATE. I read a newsletter from Qoya founder Rochelle Schieck who stated, “the antidote to destruction is creation.” In a world that is changing rapidly, where I feel like time is moving faster, we really have the power to create reality…it’s the choice to step up. And once again, that starts within myself because NO ONE IS GOING TO DO THE WORK FOR ME. And when I mean work…I mean in my heart, my gut…what’s real for me. And currently…it’s been choosing love, learning to speak up, trust, and not let the bullshit distract me. Because once you’re distracted, you’re unusable for the greater good of who you are. Yup. And I’ve been distracted plenty of times, but life seems to help get me back on track, starting this art journey in the first place.

Some key points in creating:

-You can start from nothing. (making a FB biz page was my first leap)

-The more you’re you, the more the universe will give you.

-If you think too much, it’s over.

-No matter how different you think it is…do it. (that’s how Art Alchemy was born)

-You are loved more than you realize…so relax.

The lesson? Create your magic…you’re still breathing and here for something. Go be epic already…the world needs you.
